An eldritch concept embodying guilt. Common motifs include, but are not limited to: secrets, regret, mysteries, body horror, omens, past mistakes, rumors, chases, a lack of privacy, judgement, corruption of justice, the distinction between objectivity and subjectivity, retribution, and prejudice.

The most common portrayals are The Black Dog, which stalks those who have secrets and reminds them of their guilt, and The Eye, a force of ambiguous morality that judges victims, often with disembodied eyes.
