Maxwell was a character from Hidden in the Trees and The Hunter.
Maxwell was a former Lonely Hearts operative who stole a pocketwatch which was later revealed to be the larval form of the Manufactured Newborn. Joseph Steward and his allies chased him to New Jersey, where he was eventually cornered in an amusement park called "Land of Make Believe." There, he tries to use the pocketwatch, but it merely sunk into his flesh and used his body to give birth to the Manufactured Newborn's physical form.
